    Investigation of Soil Properties and The Red Book of Soils in the Landscape reserve "Teply Stan"

    This article focuses on learning degree of anthropogenic transformation of the natural environment. Red Book of Moscow contains protected plant species and animal species that survive in habitat of Moscow. Red book focuses on that you cannot save species without saving their soil habitat. Soil is a special habitat that focuses on relation between components of nature and soil. As it is the control center of the entire landscape reserve “Teply Stan”. Only the protection and preservation of the soil can provide reliable guarantee of preservation of all life. However, none of protected natural territories of Moscow does not include direct purpose of protecting the soil. This work is the first scientific attempt of preparing the Red Book of the soil in the city. The red book of soil will not only serve the protection of soil, but also helps emerging of city`s most tentative natural areas that need in protection. Results of research findings include a series of maps and the Red Book of the soil, prepared by using IT technologies. Organization and carrying out such work allows to implement the requirements of the new regulations on natural habitats, reveals the practical significance of ecological and geographical knowledge and skills

    Epidemiology and Ecological Distribution of Tree Tumors in the Territory of Landscape Reserve “Teply stan”

    This study focuses tumors of woody trees in the territory of landscape reserve “Teply stan” in Moscow. Abnormal swellings on the trunk of woody trees are called Tumor. Formation of a swell is an evidence of an infringement of metabolism in a tree's body, is a disease of a tree and is a cause of a tree's premature death. Tumor prevents transportation of water and minerals from roots towards the leaves of a tree and transportation of organic matters from the leaves towards roots. The purpose of this study is to find out some appropriatenesses of spreading of tumors of trees in the landscape reserve “Teply stan”. In this study, landscape reserve divided into 9 study sections according to ecological conditions. Surveillance of all trees and statistical analysis of tumor trees in studied section of landscape reserve have done. The results showed that 57 of the counted 25 thousands trees have tumors. 50 of the tumors trees are belong to birch (Betula pendula).Trees with tumors are distributed non-uniformly, generally in central and east parts of landscape reserve that had ecologic pollution. Mainly birch (Betula pendula), oak (Quercus rubor) and linden (Tilia cordata) are damaged by tumors in the studied territory.     This case report describes the step-by-step procedures of clinical cases using prefabricated composite resin veneers (COMPONEER), manufactured with the Brilliant New Generation composite resin (Coltene, Altstätten, Switzerland). Direct composite veneers presented some drawbacks such as the difficulty of execution and color instability of the composite resin over time. The simplified application of the has been introduced as an interesting alternative in cases of smile asymmetry, large deficient restorations and discoloured teeth. The treatment with COMPONEER Brilliant NG yielded excellent aesthetic results. COMPONEER is simpler than direct composite veneer technique. The specific characteristics of the system can promote the results with greater aesthetic longevity. It is important to highlight that this procedure does not replace the already established veneer technique with dental ceramic

    In this article we tried to demonstrate the effectiveness of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) in the pond wastewater purification of Moscow city treatment facilities. Nowadays the number of various reservoirs and rivers where the quality of water is estimated as unsatisfactory is catastrophically increasing. The greatest harm to the various sort of rivers and reservoirs bring drains as they get wastes of manufactures that causes pollution of rivers and reservoirs. Because of that reason, it is necessary to find out new technologies of clarification of water, as in the near future there will be problem with drinking water. Water hyacinth plant is one of the most effective method for solving of this problem. Application of water hyacinth allows to clarify, drains and reservoirs from organic and bacteriological pollution and also provides natural creation of very attractive landscape. The method provides not only a purification of biogenic waste, but also the possibility of using it as water after irrigation, and for other industrial purposes. The amount of products of petroleum, industrial oils, manure, phenol, sulfates, phosphates, synthetic surfactants, mineral salts, pathogens respectively decreased in pond wastewater after adding of water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia crassipes) in a week. Sewage water clarification by water hyacinth plants is cheaper. On the other hand water hyacinth is an invasive plant so this method should be used in ponds under control

    Endo-Perio lesions often remain free of symptoms for long periods, until it starts acute symptoms of inflammation and/or increased pain.The differential diagnosis of endodontic and periodontal diseases can be challenged but a correct diagnosis has a vital importance so that appropriate treatment can be provided. Endodontic treatment is highly predictable and has high successful rate when appropriately performed. If majority of bony support has been lost from periodontitis, regardless of predictability of endodontic therapy, tooth may have hopeless prognosis. Regeneration, root resection and hemisection are indicated as a part of strategic treatment of multirooted teeth. Differentiating between a periodontal and an endodontic problem can be difficult. A symptomatic tooth may have pain of periodontal and/or pulpal origin. The nature of that pain is often the first clue in determining the etiology of such a problem. Radiographic and clinical evaluation can help clarify the nature of the problem. In some cases, the influence of pulpal pathology may cause the periodontal involvement and vice versa. The simultaneous existence of pulpal problems and inflammatory periodontal disease can complicate diagnosis and treatment planning. An endo-perio lesion can have a varied pathogenesis which ranges from simple to relatively complex one

    The effect of body mass index on tooth eruption and dental caries

    Background: Children were compared to their siblings, cousins or peers regarding the eruption of their permanent teeth. Genetic and environmental factors can affect dental development and, therefore, the body mass index (BMI) could be considered as a factor that may influence dental development. Purpose: To determine any possible association between BMI and either dental caries or the eruption of permanent teeth (central incisor and molar). Methods: A cross-sectional study was completed for six-year-old school children. A total of 218 children (116 boys, 102 girls) from public elementary schools in Erbil City were entered into the study. Dental caries assessments were carried out using the WHO criteria for decayed, missing and filled primary teeth and indices (DMFT). BMI was used to classify obesity status. Results: Overall, 27.98% of the children were classified as overweight, 59.17% as normal and 12.84% as underweight. The DMFT was 5.247, while 12.39% of the children were caries-free. Conclusions: Children of normal weight had most permanent teeth erupted and a low caries index. Underweight children had fewer erupted teeth and a higher caries index. The complex relationship between body composition and oral health should be considered in paediatric patients

    Characterization of Chemical Compounds in Volatile Oil and Ethyl Acetate Extract of Lavandula angustifolia by GC-MS

    Lavandula angustifolia is an important aromatic plant and rich source of linalool. L. angustifolia and its bioactive compounds have been reported to possess several bioactivities such as antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial and antidiabetic etc. The aim of the present study is to characterize chemical compounds present in volatile oil and ethyl acetate extract of L. angustifolia aerial parts by gas chromatography mass spectroscopy (GC-MS). The hydrodistillation of aerial parts of L. angustifolia yielded 1.56±0.27% v/w volatile oil. The GC-MS analysis of volatile oil of L. angustifolia yielded 74 chemical compounds, and lavandulyl isobutyrate (52.61%), and linalool (5.41%) were identified as major compounds. Ultrasonication was utilized for extraction of L. angustifolia using ethyl acetate as solvent and extraction yield was found to be 3.59±0.73% w/w. The GC-MS analysis of ethyl acetate extract of L. angustifolia yielded 40 chemical compounds and the major compounds were dotriacontane (8.33%), linalool (7.09%), eucalyptol (6.42%), linalyl acetate (4.69%), 1,4-cineole (4.62%), and trans-linalool oxide (4.51%).     Potential Therapeutic and Effective Properties of Soft Tissue Liners

    Soft tissue liners are polymer materials between the oral tissue and the surface of the denture. They have an essential role in reducing the effect of the masticatory force on the oral mucosa. This short review gleaned data on soft tissue liners to highlight their potential therapeutic importance in the management of denture-related stomatitis and their comparison to other materials. Published articles in many databases were collected using keywords with soft liner properties, viscoelastic, dental materials, impression technique, and additive liner materials. The soft liners were compared to the viscoelastic oral mucosa, and their influences on the control of denture plaque were highlighted too. Their application in the treatment of denture-related stomatitis, as well as adhesion and biofilm formation, was highlighted. The result showed that soft tissue liners have high therapeutic efficacy and effective properties in treating denture stomatitis due to the incorporation of chlorhexidine, antifungal, and antimicrobial agents. The use of soft liners improved ridge resorption and had a crucial effect on the loss of denture fit and stability. In addition, soft tissue liners in combination with additive materials recovered the effect of saliva on the formation and adhesion of biofilm. Uniquely, the application of soft liners in the functional impression technique was ideal, due to their extensive physical properties, their viscoelasticity, and the immediate poured impression. Therefore, soft liners are highly recommended in many dental conditions such as dentures opposing natural dentition, resorption of irregular bone, immediate implant placement, tooth undercuts, oral mucosa atrophy, bruxism, and xerostomia

    Fear, Knowledge, and Modification of Practice among Iraqi Dentists to Fight Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Pandemic

    Health care workers, especially doctors and nurses who are in direct contact with COVID-19 patients are on high-risk professions despite wearing full protective equipment. This study aimed to assess the fear and emotional stress among Iraqi dentists from getting infected with COVID-19 and also their knowledge in preventing this disease. A cross-sectional study using an online survey questionnaire consisted of 22 questions was implemented using Google Forms. The study started after gaining the agreement of the authority. The questionnaire was put out on social media; well known Iraqi dentist’s Facebook groups, and through e-mail. The study covered all the governorates of Iraq. The data were processed using SPSS. The sample was 516 dentists (216 males, and 255 females) and 218 participants were graduates, 249 postgraduates, and 49 of them were students. Results showed that, dentists who were afraid of getting infected with COVID-19 were 82%. Iraqi dentists have knowledge about the Novel COVID19 and are afraid of getting infected. Iraqi dentists need modifications in their practice to protect themselves and their patients from this pandemic

    The Pierre Auger Observatory is used to study the extensive air-showers produced by cosmic rays above 1017 eV. The Observatory is operated by a Collaboration of about 400 scientists, engineers, technicians and students from more than 90 institutions in 18 countries. The Collaboration is committed to the public release of their data for the purpose of re-use by a wide community including professional scientists, in educational and outreach initiatives, and by citizen scientists. The Open Access Data for 2021 comprises 10% of the samples used for results reported at the Madison ICRC 2019, amounting to over 20000 showers measured with the surface-detector array and over 3000 showers recorded simultaneously by the surface and fluorescence detectors. Data are available in pseudo-raw (JSON) format with summary CSV file containing the reconstructed parameters. A dedicated website is used to host the datasets that are available for download. Their detailed description, along with auxiliary information needed for data analysis, is given. An online event display is also available. Simplified codes derived from those used for published analyses are provided by means of Python notebooks prepared to guide the reader to an understanding of the physics results. Here we describe the Open Access data, discuss the notebooks available and show material accessible to the user at https://opendata.auger.org/
